Denver Airplane Accident Attorneys

Aviation accidents often carry with them tragic consequences. As passengers on airplanes, folks entrust their lives to the pilot, the airplane manufacturers, the airplane maintenance works, and the air traffic controllers.  Whether flying in a small aircraft or a commercial jet, when something goes wrong at 20,000 feet, or 35,000 feet, there is nothing a passenger can do but rely on this trust.  When this trust is broken, lives are lost.

Determining What Caused the Crash

In the aftermath of an airplane accident, victims and families of victims inexorably find themselves asking the one question that only highly trained experts can answer – what went wrong? This is also the central question in lawsuits involving these aviation disasters. Who is to blame? Airplanes just don’t fall out of the sky – somewhere, someone along the way, made a critical mistake.  The key is to find out where and why.

The answer often is anything but simple.  A variety of factors can contribute to an airplane crash –pilot error, weather, design defects, airport design, and other types of human error.  Answers cannot be found until thorough and precise investigations are conducted; investigators must look at witness statements, security camera capture, black box data, ATC data, maintenance history, human factors, weather data, and other factors.

The Most Technical of Problems Require the Most Sophisticated Approach

At Zaner Harden Law, we work with a team of experienced and respected aviation experts who are considered the best in their field: lead aircraft investigators, maintenance examiners, meteorologists, toxicologists, flight instructors, material engineers, and airport designers.  We also have close personal relationships with two highly decorated, high ranking Navy fighter pilots, both retired and active, who we consult.  These fighter pilots have a wide breadth of experience flying a variety of aircraft over the past forty five years and into the present including the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, the F-5 Northrop F-5A/B Freedom Fighter, the North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco, and the Boeing EA-18G Growler. Together these two pilots have over 400 aircraft carrier landings and have flown combat missions in Vietnam, the first and second Gulf War, as well as Afghanistan.  One retired as a “full bird” Colonel and was certified as an Aircraft Accident Investigator.

At Zaner Harden Law, we understand that only the best will be able to solve the technical questions and that’s why we bring the best on our most difficult and important cases.  Once the cause of the crash is determined, the legal fight begins.  That’s where your attorneys come into play.  Aviation litigation requires the brightest of legal minds and the strongest of legal wills.  It is time consuming, expensive, and highly challenging.  The legal issues are complex and the skill set required is specialized.  You need a talented trial lawyer, but you also need a skilled writer, a creative thinker, and a tireless fighter.
